You can only use this chute cover if the chute opening of your feeder housing where the food comes out is over 1 inch high (approximately 1 1/4") from the bottom of the feeder. If it is less than 1 inch, you have the early standard housing and will not be able to use this cover unless you also replace your housing with the optional housing. This chute cover is made out of a special polycarbonate material, which is very tough but is not guaranteed against breakage due to the nature and size of some pets or other outdoor animals. An outdoor feeder should always be protected accordingly. This chute cover will help prevent your cat or other small pet from being able to extract food from the Super Feeder when installed with its dedicated INDOOR stand.

NOTE:  Because of some feedback about this cover not protecting an outdoor feeder against raccoons, IT WILL NOT! As originally directed above and with the outdoor type feeders, it should be adequately protected against raccoons in some form or another, particularly the dispenser where the food comes out.  The individual who posted a somewhat negative review about this chute cover is actually very lucky to perhaps not have a broken feeder housing.  Many wild animals have very strong jaws, particularly raccoons.
